Mercure Hotel Chongqing Jiefangbei

We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful hotel.  The location is ideal, with the Jiefangbei pedestrian street, restaurants, stores and public transport right next door. Our room on the 33rd floor was spacious and comfortable, the furniture a little dated  but the view over the city and Hongya Cave was magnificent. Breakfast is copious and varied, in the Chinese style. The laundry service is excellent and free. Good value for money. A big bravo and thank you to Miss Xiao Yang who assisted us all the time, always with smiles and unparalleled kindness, to ensure that our stay went smoothly - and it did! We'll definitely choose this hotel when we come back to Chongqing.

The rooms are well-appointed with high-quality toiletries, including shampoo, body wash, conditioner, lotion, and hand wash. Additional amenities such as slippers, a fridge, a hairdryer, and tissues ensure a convenient and pleasant stay. A unique feature of Mercure Jiefangbei is the laundry room located on the 14th floor, equipped with four washers and four dryers. This facility is perfect for guests who need to refresh their wardrobe during their stay. The room also offers other types of dryers, along with paper bags and mineral water for those waiting for their laundry. The hotel’s afternoon tea service is a delightful experience, offering a variety of treats. Guests can enjoy small mochi and yogurt one day, followed by small egg tarts with yogurt the next. These thoughtful touches add to the overall charm of the hotel. Breakfast at Mercure Jiefangbei predominantly features Chinese-style options, with highlights including the Chongqing xiao mian, expertly prepared by a friendly aunty, and soft, tiny cakes that are a treat to the palate. On the final day of my stay, the air conditioning in my room malfunctioned. The hotel staff promptly offered to move me to another room, demonstrating their commitment to guest satisfaction. However, as I was checking out soon, I chose to remain in my room. In summary, Mercure Jiefangbei is a wonderful hotel that combines a superb location with excellent amenities and attentive service. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, this hotel provides a welcoming and comfortable base for your Chongqing adventures.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street and close to restaurants, shopping, and public transport. Staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in was smooth. Although English communication was limited, everything went well thanks to their helpful attitude. Overall, this room offers great comfort, space, and a beautiful city view — a perfect choice for travelers wanting both convenience and a touch of luxury in Chongqing.
